Association Petite Graine launches the Erasmus+ project Ready to Adapt: Adult Learning for Climate Preparedness
Association Petite Graine is pleased to announce the launch of its new Erasmus+ KA122-ADU project, Ready to Adapt: Adult Learning for Climate Preparedness. The project will run from June 2026 to November 2027.
Ready to Adapt responds to a concrete need in our territory: supporting adults, educators and local communities to better understand climate risks, prepare for crisis situations and take action in a supportive, inclusive and informed way.
In Luchon and the surrounding mountain villages, the effects of climate change are already visible: heat periods, heavy rainfall events, water-related pressures, changes in tourism activities and a growing need for reliable information. For many adults, especially those facing rural isolation, limited mobility, financial constraints or unequal access to digital tools, it is essential to offer learning spaces that are accessible, practical and respectful.
The Ready to Adapt project will strengthen Association Petite Graine’s adult education methods around four main areas:
1. Climate preparedness and local resilience
The project will help transform climate risk information into concrete actions for everyday life, households, neighbourhoods and villages.
2. Inclusion of adults with fewer opportunities
Activities will be designed with accessible formats: clear language, participatory methods, low-tech options, small-group facilitation, support measures and attention to individual needs.
3. Critical thinking and misinformation
The project will develop simple tools to help adults check information, identify reliable sources and discuss climate-related topics without confrontation.
4. Civic dialogue and local participation
Ready to Adapt will encourage adults to move from learning to action by strengthening participation, mutual support, local initiatives and the ability to discuss transition issues constructively.
Planned activities
The project will include several European and local activities:
- a job shadowing period in Germany to observe non-formal education methods on sustainability, resilience and participation;
- staff training to strengthen the team’s competences in climate communication, inclusion, critical thinking and facilitation of difficult conversations;
- a group mobility for adult learners, offering a European peer-learning experience;
- invited experts in France to support the creation of tools, modules and local workshops.
Association Petite Graine will work in particular with Next Level e.V., a partner organisation based in Erfurt, Germany, active in non-formal education, sustainability, European projects and experiential learning.
Expected results
Through Ready to Adapt, we will develop concrete resources that will remain available after the end of the project:
- a Climate Preparedness Facilitation Pack with session plans, activities and inclusive adaptations;
- a “Misinformation and Difficult Conversations” guide to support safe discussions on climate and transition issues;
- Climate Preparedness Action Plan templates to help participants turn learning into concrete actions;
- pilot workshops and follow-up workshops in Luchon and surrounding villages;
- bilingual resources in French and English, shared with other adult education organisations.
This project will strengthen Association Petite Graine’s capacity to offer adult education that is more inclusive, more practical and better adapted to current climate challenges. It will also create bridges between European experiences and the local needs of our territory.
