Comparative Report

Comparative Report

The Green Seeds Comparative Report brings together the results of local research carried out in Haute-Garonne, France, and Thuringia, Germany, to better understand how young people engage with climate action and education for sustainable development.

Based on youth surveys, interviews with youth workers, and examples of local initiatives, the report explores what motivates young people to get involved, which barriers still limit their participation, and which approaches are most effective in creating meaningful and lasting engagement. It highlights common challenges such as lack of time, limited access to clear information, financial constraints, eco-anxiety, and the feeling of not being fully heard in decision-making, while also showing the importance of hands-on learning, youth ownership, community support, and stronger cooperation between schools, youth organisations, local actors, and public authorities.
